Gives more specific description of socials.
Expands ability to vote electronically. Please send us your vote via e-mail if you can’t attend this Thursday’s meeting.
Adds Environmental Sustainability committee.
Allows for Corporate Membership.
Selling Tickets to the Hungry Games
Is selling tickets not your favorite activity? If even the thought of selling tickets makes you uncomfortable, I invite you to think about what could make it easier.
First, talk to friends, relatives and other Rotarians to join our fun event. It’s not fun to talk to anyone who isn’t interested in community service as we all are.
Second, remember you’re inviting them to a party – delicious food, good wine and beer, buying gifts for the holidays and birthdays, etc., a fast-paced professional live auction.
Third, the $100 restaurant raffle ticket gives really good odds for winning, 1 in 100. That’s way better than any lottery and zipping up to Reno for gambling.
Fourth, be prepared with a couple examples of how most of our proceeds will benefit youth – scholarships to college, RYLA & REGL leadership camps, and health screening for kids in Los Barriles, Baja, Mexico.
See you at Round Table Pizza on Thursday. Please arrive early to put in your food and/or drinks order. Round Table has a limited selection of wine and beer.
At our October Board meeting, our Club Board approved the updated Bylaws and Club Constitution as submitted and is recommending approval by the Club at large.
Please review and be prepared to vote to approve the Club Bylaws at our regular meeting October 20. If you have questions or recommendations, please contact Robin via reply to the Rotario email.
This Thursday October 20, Nevada City Rotary is moving its 1st and 3rd Thursday social gatherings to Round Table Pizza at 686 Sutton Way, near Staples in the Brunswick basin.
The site has a number of advantages: the staff will reserve the meeting room in the back for our club only, without conditions, on those two days of the month; we can use the room for free; the room is quite spacious, has plenty of tables and chairs, and there is plenty of parking outdoors. You can purchase your choice of beverages (wine, beer, & sodas) and food (pizza, appetizers, & generous salad bar.)
We encourage you to arrive 10 -15 minutes early if you plan to order pizza or other foods!
Oct. 20 - First visit at Round Table Pizza
Oct. 27- Return for lunch at Bistro 211 (Please RSVP)
Join us each Thursday for fun gatherings and informative meetings!
Plan to join Nevada City Rotarians as we host an End Polio Now Walk-About downtown Nevada City on Saturday, October 22nd in celebration of World Polio Day. Since the Nevada City Farmers Market is open from 8:30am-1pm, we plan to set up an End Polio Now table in front of the Firehouse Museum next to Treats as we have done in recent years.
Some members will do a walk-about around 10 or 11am down Broad Street and through the market (mindful that solicitation in the Marketis strictly prohibited). Members are encouraged to wear their new (or older) End Polio Now T-Shirts both at the table and during the walk. Watch for details from Lynda.
If you ordered a new End Polio Now T-Shirt, our T-shirts have arrived! See Carolyn if you have not received yours. Your cost for the shirt, tax and shipping rounds up to $18. Thank you!
