Welcome to the Rotary Club of Nevada City

There's something that all Rotary club members have in common: We take action. As community volunteers, we reach out to neighbors in need. We build, support, and organize. We save lives. We work locally and globally.

The main objective of Rotary is service -- in the community, the workplace and the world. Around the world and around the corner, the 1.2 million men and women of Rotary
  • Get involved in our communities
  • Connect with other professionals
  • Share their time and experience with young people
  • Support global causes, such as eradicating polio
  • Use our skills to help others
Rotary is not just an organization. It is a medicine for the soul, a family we choose, not inherit,
and a gift we give to ourselves and the world!
Past President Cathy Wilcox-Barnes.

Whether you're a veteran volunteer or new to community service, we are looking for people like you. Contact us for more information about Rotary and how to join us.

SAEL Interact Hosts its 2nd Harmonious Wolf Trail Run!

Cooler temperatures and overcast skies did not diminish the enthusiasm of over 40 runners, walkers, parents with pre-school children, and a dozen dogs from participating in this local fundraising event organized by the Interact Club of Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning (SAEL).

Starting at the Gold Country Equestrian Trailhead on Harmony Ridge, participants chose either a 1.4 mile course or a 3.46 mile course. A half dozen Interactors helped set up and monitored the course under the leadership of Byron Bird. Our Rotary team consisted of Carolyn Feuille, Walt and Sandy Stickel, Tom Ryan, Cathy Wilcox Barnes, as well as Tom and Robin Milam. Tuco, Allie, and Cooper represented our 4 legged participants. This fundraiser had no entry fee yet was able to raise over $500 in voluntary donations, all of which will be donated to Sammie's Friends, a local animal shelter.

The power of partnership expands our opportunities for service and the impact of our work. We celebrate and extend a special thank you to our partners during this Rotary year.
