Our team is back from Los Barriles, Baja CA del Sur, and they reportedly had a successful service trip and a few adventures. We look forward to hearing a report from organizer Paul Boch, co-president Carolyn Feuille, and some of the team over the next few weeks. Enjoy a few of their photos below.
At this week’s Thursday meeting we’ll be hearing about an interesting program of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office: they have a team of volunteers who assist the officers with their daily duties. Our own member Doug McDonald has served with this force and suggested we learn more about this dedicated group of citizens.
This week will also be our LAST meeting at Bistro 221, since our Board of Directors has approved moving our lunch meetings (second and third Thursdays of each month) to our new location at the former Lefty’s at the bottom of Broad St, now TJ’S Roadhouse. The RSVP process will be a little different than previously; but for now, for our meeting of this week Mar 23, please RSVP by Wed evening Mar 22 HERE.
We hope that all of you have finally dug out from your snow, and are getting back into the swing of normal life! Looking forward to seeing you all at Bistro 221 on Thursday Mar. 23 at 12:15pm!
Our team is back from Los Barriles for our club’s 7th International project with the Rotary Club of Los Barriles, Cabo del Este. A cadre of Rotarians - including 49er, family, and friends participated this year.
Our return to Los Barriles for our health screenings of school kids was a real delight. The main focus of our trip this year after three years of absence -- thanks to Covid -- was an all-out intensive: screening over 350 school kids in two days. Nevada City Rotary delivered several hundred sets of eyeglasses which were distributed during the clinics.
As of April 13, we are moving to TJ’s Roadhouse – formerly home to Lefty’s Grill at the bottom of Broad Street in Nevada City for 2nd and 4th Thursday 12:15pm lunch meetings.
We will be meeting in the front room adjacent to Sacramento Street. TJ's staff will work with our Club each week to choose 3 entrees to be offered for lunch. Members and guests will need to RSVP and specify their menu selection by noon on Wednesday, the day before our lunch meeting. The online RSVP process will be setup on our website similar to what we have used for Bistro 221. The cost will be $25 per person inclusive of tax and gratuity with a 15 person minimum.
