Short & Sweet

Our first meeting at Round Table Pizza, the new venue for our social meetings, got started on a very good footing. The room suited our needs - from small tables to lighting and ambiance. Our activities, including the speaker, Jared Milligan from Gaia Soap, were engaging. The food choices were good too.

Also during the meeting, members approved the proposed changes to our Club By-Laws.

This week we return for lunch at Bistro 221 and guest Michael Stone speaking on Trauma Awareness, Integration & Healing. Please RSVP if you want lunch.

Our End Polio Walk on Saturday was fun & lively. Cathy’s yummy cookies gave us some energy to go out and speak to people about our End Polio Now campaign. I found it quite gratifying to explain why our campaign is still so necessary and spark people’s generosity in just a few minutes. It was also a good occasion to promote our Hungry Games event with flyers.

Hungry Games: Attached is a written invitation I wrote to send to friends, family and groups I belong to. I‘m sending it out this week and will follow up with phone calls and text messages. Do feel free to use it and shorten or customize to your invitees’ interests.

Tickets are now on sale for Hungry Games II. Contact a Nevada City Rotarian to purchase raffle and/or event tickets:

Raffle tickets for our Winner Take All $1,000+ restaurant package are $100 and include entry for 1 person.
Event tickets are $25 in advance; $35 at the door. Event tickets are also sold at Harmony Books in Nevada City and Bookseller in Grass Valley. Rotarians needing tickets to sell, contact Gayle Denney at ggdenney@gmail.com.
