Again, a big thank-you to four of our members - Chris, Carolyn, Judy, and Tom R. - who enjoyed working with Bright Futures for Youth in their Rocking Stockings mini-project last week. We stuffed and transported 14 boxes with 260 stockings full of fun and practical gifts like socks, ChapStick, sweets, marking pens, etc. Kids in BFFY’s programs, 11-25 years old and their siblings from newborn to age 25, were the lucky recipients.
A big thanks also to Walt who organized a one-day service of bell-ringing for the Salvation Army on Tuesday, December 13 at SPD Nevada City. Let’s wish the volunteers a sunny day!
On Thursday, we are looking forward to celebrating with you! Don't forget your small gift and potluck dish!
Our Membership Committee is at work! We inducted Louise Benicoff Johnson as our newest member at the club meeting December 8. And more to come!
Wise words from our Chief Dan Foss: During this holiday season, with thefts going up, be careful not to leave packages of any kind visible in your car and on your doorstep.

Come join us for our club’s 7th International project with the Rotary Club of Los Barriles, Cabo del Este March 14 through March18, 2023. Los Barriles is a small town about 45 miles north of San Jose Del Cabo airport on the Sea of Cortez. Members, friends, and families are again invited to participate.
During our last three visits, more than 400 school children in the town of Los Barriles and families in remote outlying areas were screened for glucose levels - as a precursor for diabetes - blood pressure, vision and dental. Records were kept and follow-up visits were held for those with immediate medical needs. The Rotarians brought eyeglasses to distribute to those needing them for reading. In addition to the town of Los Barriles, the volunteers also drove to the isolated communities of El Cardinal, El Campamento and San Bartolo where there is no health care.
