This past Thursday, eight hardy souls ventured out for our Club Social at Round Table. While we weren’t treated to a Craft Talk, we had a fun time swapping stories and learning more about each other. When you see Dan ask him about his camping trip in the Moscow Airport. Also, if you think we have had a tough time finding a place to meet, have Miles fill you in on the difficulties of finding a meeting place in Tahoe City. We’ve had it easy compared to his former club!
Heads up Los Barriles, Nevada City Rotary is coming your way! Once again we are Mexico bound to help the East Cape Clinic and members of the Club Rotario Los Barriles de Cabo Este conduct health screenings. This year we will be returning to La Ribera where we successfully completed our first joint project with our sister club in Los Barriles. That year we renovated an Albergue (dormitory for school children). For the past several years we have helped screen for high blood pressure and blood sugar in addition to vision and dental checkups. Word of warning amigos/amigas, lock up your Margaritas because Carolyn will be returning!
Since both of your co-presidents will be otherwise engaged, we have left the next meeting in the capable hands of Past President and current Secretary Robin Milam. We have no doubt she will treat you to a fun meeting. Then Saturday morning, join DGE Dennis and Club leaders as we prepare for next year at the virtual Club Success Summit.
Coming right on the heels of our Mexico trip, (we get home with a day to rest up) we will have the great pleasure of touring the Ananda Tulip Gardens on April 15 with Mai as our guide. I’m still marveling at the tour she gave us last year, so I know I’ll be doubly impressed this year. Dave Brown (Kelly’s husband) was so inspired he bought tons of bulbs for their yard this year. Hmmm, next year we may have dueling tulip gardens.
