Dear Tom and Dave,

On behalf of Past President Shekhar Mehta and Past District Governor Anita Daniels;

Congratulations! The Rotary Club of Nevada City has earned the Rotary Citation, the most significant award a Rotary club can achieve, for 2021-22. During a year that was challenging for many Rotarians around the world, your club demonstrated a commitment to achieve their goals, which ultimately helps strengthen Rotary and shape our future.

Nevada City Rotary was one of eleven Clubs in District 5190 to achieve the 2021-2022 Rotary Citation awarded by PRIP Mehta.

Rotary Citation

The Rotary Citation is an award that recognizes the hard work clubs do throughout the year. Taking action toward achieving the citation goals helps clubs engage their members, stay relevant in their communities, and run more efficiently. A welcoming and engaging club also reflects the values of Rotary. When clubs work to achieve these goals, they also contribute to the overall health and culture of Rotary for generations to come.

Your Rotary, Rotaract, or Interact club can earn a Rotary Citation for achieving goals that strengthen Rotary and your club. Goals include increasing club membership, developing sustainable service projects, giving to The Rotary Foundation, and building awareness of Rotary in your community.

For 2021-2022, Rotary club officers were required to go into Rotary Club Central and select at least 13 out of 25 goals they wished to apply toward citation achievement. This flexibility allows clubs to choose the goals that are most relevant and achievable. In addition, many goals were self-reported by marking “achieved in Rotary Club Central.
