Rotario - November 24,2016

Dear Rotarians and Friends,

Welcome to our latest Rotario newsletter. Once again it is a pleasure keeping you informed of our club activities in the coming weeks.

Our club will be Dark this week in observance of Thanksgiving

Have a safe and enjoyable Holiday weekend. Our next meeting will be a mixer on Thursday Dec.1

Last Week was busy, starting with our Board meeting on Tuesday 11/15

One of the highlights of the meeting was the confirmation that our Holiday Party will be moving to the Bridge House and will occur on December 15.  A sign-up sheet will be circulated at our next meeting and we already have over 20 names on the sheet. Complete Board Meeting minutes are available on our web site.

Next was the Area Foundation Dinner on Wednesday 11/16

Assistant District Gov. Dennis Geare hosted the event and did a terrific job coordinating the agenda as well as introducing the various speakers. 15 of our club members attended and three of our members were honored for achieving another Paul Harris milestone.. They were Ron Knaus, Past President Robin Milam, and former District Gov. Dave Denny.

Most Recently, on Saturday, September 19 President Walt convened a Club Assembly at the National Hotel.

The meeting centered around discussions on how to provide leadership for the 2017 - 2018 calendar year and produced very significant results, as many members of the 15 who attended volunteered for additional duties. The most significant was that Cathy Wilcox Barnes has offered to become our new President Nominee. Also, Tricia Dellis offered to be the next Treasurer, and Stacy Drake has offered to become our new Membership Committee  Chair. Review a summary of the Assembly results (link is external).

Registrar Needed for the Girls Who Code Club.

The Girls Who Code club has been going very well, and we are now preparing for a Spring 2017 session. Dave Bunje could use assistance receiving and listing responses from girls who want to join. This is a brief at-home on-the-computer task, using Goggle Docs or similar so others can have access. Dave is learning this part of the process, too, so we can learn together! Occasional work with the club could be a pleasant side benefit. Contact Dave at or 530-409-2925. Thanks!

Salvation Army Bell Ringers wanted in front of SPD on Dec. 17

To accomplish this, we'll meed at least 8 volunteers for this event.  If you are interested please contact President Walt via or sign up at our next meeting.
