The Nevada County Fair is in full swing this week, and so are we! All week long, you'll find our club members out at the Kids' Corner with our friends at First 5 Nevada County, handing out free books and helping families sign up for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Every enrollment is a small seed planted for a big future — and there's nothing more forward-thinking than getting a book into a kid's hands before they even know how to ask for one. If you're at the fair, swing by and say hello.
A quick note before we get to this week's meeting: President Andrea has a work commitment and will be stepping out of the driver's seat, so our own Louise is graciously taking the wheel. A big thank-you to Louise for leading us this week — that's the kind of "step up when it counts" spirit that makes this club work.
And speaking of the meeting: Our lunch gathering at Bodhi Hive this week will feature club member Carolyn Feuille, who's taking us on a journey through Travels through Byzantine Art. Think mosaics, empires, and centuries of artistry, all packed into one lunch hour, It's the kind of program that reminds us why we show up week after week — good food, assuming you remembered we're still BYOL, good company, and just enough culture to make us sound smart at our next dinner party.
Between books at the fair and Byzantine art over lunch, this is shaping up to be one of those weeks where service and curiosity go hand in hand. So, grab your calendar, grab a friend, and come be part of it — Rotary's always looking forward to what's next.
