There was lots of good energy at our lunch meeting on Thursday - members, guests, and speakers. The room felt electric! Thank you to our speakers Drs. Mark and Melisa Agness; both are true examples of service through their medical work in countries in crisis. Our speaker coordinators Nancy and Chris are doing a magnificent job!
This coming Thursday evening we will be hearing from Robin about her vocational and avocational labors of love throughout her life. Plus we will have a few laptops up and working for a review of the lunch RSVP system and to sign up for giving to The Rotary Foundation through Rotary Direct. You can bring your own laptop if you would like to get the sites bookmarked. Doug and Lynda will be available to explain what Rotary Direct is and why it is an easy way to make your donations.
Tuesday, August 1st is National Night Out — please plan to attend the fun evening outing at Memorial Park. Look for the Nevada City Police pop-up, BBQ grill, and Rotarians At Work t-shirts — and feel free to take in the activities. If you can help out flipping burgers and other tasks, click to email Chief Dannow. The weather looks like it will be cooperating with comfortable evening temperatures. Be sure to wear your Rotary pin! Check out the article for more details.
Let's start to form our Merry Money Makers Committee; plans need to be kicked off for the Hungry Games raffle tickets with the magnificent prize of ten restaurant dinners. Our Merry Money Makers can play with the idea of whether or not to have an event with the raffle. Maybe it is time to create a new fundraiser or recraft an old one. Are you ready to make some money for our service projects? Sign up to be a member of the committee -- see Karen.
