Before the Lunch bell rings Thursday the 26th at Bodhi-Hive (see below for details), we have the much-anticipated Speech Contest. Rotarian Louise has organized this event to the T. Tuesday, March 24 at 4pm in the Grass Valley School Board Offices (across from Lyman Gilmore Middle School, 840 Gilmore Way, Grass Valley.) Theme: “Unite for Good—Together We Make Dreams Come True”
Once this Rotario is in your hands you will be receiving a worksheet for examination of the necessary information for our understanding of serving as the host Club supporting an In-ComingRotary Youth Exchange student next year, or not. Our decision is in the works and will have 'yes or no' ballots on our Lunch tables, where we will have a chance to discuss the pros and cons. If you are not at lunch on the 26th, please voice your opinion to me via email pearceboyer@gmail.com so I can tabulate and report to the Board.
Enough out of me! But before I sign off, let’s offer great Thanks!!! to Nancy Kemp for her most informative Craft Talk at last week's meeting. All about COBOL (Common Business Oriented Language) ground-breaking software and the role she played in the banking industry as we now know it. And again we’d love to have Steve join us anytime!
You can also follow PE Andrea on FB. She is enjoying meeting Rotarians and sharing club flags with Rotary Clubs along her way in Baja. “It’s a lovely day for a picnic in the park! It’s wonderful to be part of an organization that provides a sense of community all over the world. It’s been great meeting some of the members of the Rotary Club of San Felipe. Live music in the background, yummy food, and lots of enthusiastic welcomes!”
Attention NC Rotarians: This Thursday, Mar 26 12:15pm at Bodhi Hive, your RCAT Committee will be preparing for you a delicious, home-made Plant-Rich luncheon!
We’ll help you experience how yummy plant-based foods can be, while learning why it’s so important to the health of our planet to minimize an animal-based diet.
So leave your brown bag lunches at home (DO bring your own water in your reusable water canteen). And join us at our next meeting March 26, 12:15pm.
Join us for the Area Speech Contest at 4pm tomorrow, Tuesday, at the Grass Valley School Board offices on the campus of Lyman Gilmore Middle School. We have had a fabulous response of students signing up to compete.
