Nevada City Rotary Donates Scholarship to Support Summer Programs

Recognizing our ongoing partnership with the City of Nevada City, Andrea presented Dawn Zydonis, Parks and Recreation a $600 donation to support local children participating in swim and other summer programs. Perfect timing as July is National Parks and Recreation Month.

We are proud to support these efforts and partner with the City throughout the year on projects and events that enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.  “Our partnership with the City reflects Rotary’s commitment to service above self,” said President Andrea. “We’re pleased to help support summer recreation opportunities and to work alongside the City on projects that strengthen our community.”

Nevada City Rotary collaborates with the City on numerous community initiatives, including Pumpkins Palooza, stretchable plastic recycling efforts, improvements and beautification projects at Penzance Park, and community cleanup activities. Club members also volunteer alongside the Nevada City Police Department during National Night Out, Summer Nights, and Victorian Christmas, and have previously provided a scholarship to support police safety training.

The scholarship presented to Nevada City Parks and Recreation reflects our Club’s ongoing investment in programs that benefit local youth and families while reinforcing its long-standing commitment to community service.
