Nevada City Rotary is happy to have an "on call" relationship with Nevada County Health and Human Services to assist with preventive health clinics for flu shots and pediatric COVID shots. We appreciate the tremendous professionalism and compassionate service our Nevada County Health Services offers our community.
Nevada County Health Department offered a series of two COVID Vaccine Clinics for local children. The free clinics allowed children to receive their first and second shots. Nevada City Rotary greeted children and their parents, guided them through the clinic, distributed free COVID face masks, and passed out treats. Chris, a retired physician assisted the medical team administering shots. Super heroes among both the County staff and Rotarians added a cheerful encouraging spirit for the children.
Our Club has a valued partnership with our Health Department assisting with flu shots for several years and distributing free COVID masks. During the COVID pandemic, Nevada County Health and Human Services continued their free drive through flu shot clinics to vaccinate local residents against the flu. Nevada County Rotarians partnered with the County to prepare registration packages, register people, pass out free COVID face masks that the Club donated, and to direct traffic. Over 600 people were vaccinated each year.
