Rain or Shine this show went on! And rain it did!
And you know what, the rain turned out to be a blessing because it forced/allowed us to change our loading schedule and get set up on Friday at SAEL!

Tom with Peter Newsom our adopted hero!
A big thank you to our expanded Upscale Resale Fundraising team - Carolyn, Chris, Louise, Nicole, Cathy, Tom Ryan, Alison, Dan, Walt, Mai, Tally, Lynda, Robin, and EVERYONE! To all who donated and collected items and who rolled with us each step of the way -- And to our generous sponsor Tally and First U.S. Community Credit Union. To Lynn and Nevada City Chamber of Commerce, YubaNet.com, the Union and Kim and KNCO who ran special notices of our last-minute venue change. It took a lot of energy, coordination, and more to pull off! Mother Nature forced a reorganizing scramble moving us from the Ridge Rd parking lot to inside SAEL Academy, but we did it with lots of Nevada City Rotary style and fanfare!
We had over 100 shoppers during our opening hour and the flow continued through the morning. Then just before noon we announced our 50% close out reduction (enjoyed a much-needed pizza boost) and shopping peaked again. With well over 300 shoppers, we sold bikes, kayaks (thank you Alison), jewelry, paintings, collectibles, fine crystal, housewares, bedding, a bit of furniture and so much more! Mai’s Facebook and other media postings, along with the help of others, had people showing up looking for specific items. Preliminary reports show we exceeded our $6,000 sales goal.
Special Thank you's to Chris for your generous use of your home; Peter Newsom who was onsite lifting, hauling, and whatever almost every day, all day since we began!; Tom and Chris for donating the Box truck…we could not have done this without that truck; all who loaned their pickups and SUVs to haul paintings, boxes and more!!!; Others who joined the load/unload/reload, floor support, and more: Tom Milam, Dave Brown, Kelly, Dennis, Miles, Gloria Riley, Pearce, Steven, Collin, Bob Morley, Jim, Gayle, Dave, Stacy, Andrea, Kim, Tally and Colten; Plus Paul, Karen and Bob were out in the rain redirecting traffic from Ridge Road to SAEL before joining us at SAEL; Walt, Cathy, and whomever else covered the area updating and posting signage and of course, all the unknown or forgotten actions taken by so many! Cranking up, regrouping together, enjoying the camaraderie - We are truly Rotarians in Action!
Thank you, Nevada City Rotary, our extended family, and our fabulous community who came out in the rain to shop, support, and have fun with us!

Service projects funded:
All proceeds from the event will go to help fund the many Nevada City Rotary community service initiatives as a Club and in partnership with other organizations such as Food Bank of Nevada County, Bright Futures for Youth, and other agencies.
The club especially sponsors local youth programs such as youth leadership camps, academic scholarships at Sierra College and the Global Scholar grant, high school music and speech competitions and Girls Who Code -- an after school program that encourages and trains middle school girls for careers in technology. We are proud to sponsor the Rotary Interact Club at the Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning, Nevada City, and their community projects.
Rotary members also fly to Mexico’s rural Southern Baja to perform health screening on local students and adults.
