More children are feeling the vibe!

As of December 1, over  825 children ages 0-5 are enrolled in the Imagination Library Nevada County program! Karen McDonald recently shared a heart warming story about a 2-year old child of a former student who came running to her at Mt St Mary's squealing "looky" with her first book. Friends, neighbors and until-now strangers are expressing joy and gratitude as their children receive their monthly books!

We are proud to partner with Dolly Parton's Imagination LibraryFirst 5 Nevada County, and the generous donors from our community to bring the joy of reading to littlest ones among us!

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Nevada County District 5190 Grant

Nevada City, Truckee and Penn Valley Rotary teamed up with District 5190 for a $11,650 district grant. We have now received District 5190's $6,650 matching funds. The grant will fund the first year of personalize books for Nevada County children.

Thank you to our Rotary partners for making our District 5190 grant possible.

Nevada City Rotary Club and Foundation partnered with the Dollywood Foundation last Fall, and with the quick addition of First 5 Nevada County as a community partner and administrative lead, we have worked tirelessly to raise the funds needed to get the program going. Nearly a year later, we are excited to officially launch and start getting high-quality books into the homes of all Nevada County children 0-5 every month.

Our most sincere gratitude to all who have contributed to get this program up and running! Please see our official press release here: Imagination Library Launches in Nevada County
