Nevada City Rotary is proud to launch Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Nevada County in the coming months. “Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five, through funding shared by Dolly Parton and local community partners.” Inspired by her father’s inability to read and write, Dolly started her Imagination Library in 1995 to foster a love of reading among her county’s young children and their families by providing them with the gift of a specially selected book each month.You too can help bring this special gift to the young children across our county. Andrea Mason, Co-Chair for our Youth Services Committee, shares a passion for literacy. When she learned that our county did not have an active program, Andrea was inspired to bring the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program to Nevada County for the 4,200 children ages 0-5 in our community. The Rotary Club of Nevada City Foundation has been certified by Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to serve as the Local Program Partner for Nevada County. Local First Five and other County education partners are aligned to launch the program within our community in 2025.
