What a joyful way to kick off the holiday season — celebrating with Rotary friends over a fabulous meal, playing Cathy’s quizzes, Angel Bingo, and Walt’s Name That Carol, and exchanging all sorts of enchanting White Elephant gifts. Some gifts were recycled from years past. And of course, our Renegade Rotary Rob hopped onto the scene!
A huge thank you to Cathy and Judy for all the details that went into planning and hosting our Holiday Party. As always, you outdid yourselves. Thank you Karen for your warm, inspiring welcome in President Louise’s place. The Yule Logs were gorgeous and delicious. Thanks to Sandy and Gloria for jumping in to help Cathy and Judy create them. And now Cathy, a quiz for you: Where and for what celebration did the yule log originate?
A warm thank you to Ken, Chad, and the whole Friar Tuck’s team for all the special touches they put into the delicious meal choices, their gracious service, and opening the restaurant just for us. Ken extended an intimate, personal welcome with his special Rotary Polio story from his year as President of the Rotary Club of Campbell. Express your thanks by clicking Facebook and Sharing a Friar Tuck’s Review.
We look forward to seeing you at our annual Nevada City Rotary Holiday Party Monday December 2 at Friar Tucks Restaurant. Wear your favorite holiday party attire – funny, fancy, frumpy, or fantastical – and let this time of year bring out the fashionista in you.
We are planning on bringing back the White Elephant gift exchange. Look around your house for something (worth no more than $10.00 max.) to repurpose into a new life in someone else’s home. We know you all have those things that make you say, “What the heck am I ever going to do with this??” Now’s your opportunity to “gift” it to someone else. Please bring it either wrapped or in a gift bag.
We have planned an evening of fun and fellowship to kick off the holiday season. See you at Friar Tuck’s. Social hour starts at 5:00 p.m., dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m.
