Northern Rural Energy Network (NREN)
The Northern Rural Energy Network (NREN) is a program run and administered by the Sierra Business Council, a nonprofit based in Truckee. We provide Free energy efficiency program services to help residents in Nevada county make their homes more comfortable, lower energy bills, and make the switch to energy efficient appliances. Our residential programs are available to both renters and owners and are free and available to any PG&E customer within the county. Our programs include:
- Rebates for energy-saving appliances & upgrades including dishwashers, refrigerators, laundry equipment, HVAC & water heating units, and more.
- Free home Energy Efficiency Kit packed with energy-saving items like LED light bulbs, weather stripping, a smart powerstrip, and more!
- Free Home Assessments to identify energy inefficiencies, provide recommendations for improvements, and connect you with available rebates and funding opportunities.
