We are Dark this Week for 4th of July

Please join the club in participating in the Parade!

Those of you who are not marching are invited to join Gil's special VIP seating for watching the parade. Bring plenty of ice water (in a wine bottle?) to help cool down and join in promoting the Adventures & Wine Auction.

Gather at 9AM near GV City Hall and either march in the parade (with car) or pick a VIOP spot to watch within Gil's TV area.

Quote of the Week
A baby is born with a need to be loved - and never outgrows it.
Frank A. Clark

Last Week
Last week we heard from Heidi Hall who is running for Congress House of Representatives, District 1. Seems that wasn't quite enough for Jeff Wensel as he found his way to the podium.

Personal Invitation to Rotary District 5190 Rotary Academy!
As we start a new year with Rotary, I want to invite Club Members to join me in creating a Rotary Club of Nevada City Class for the Rotary District 5190 Rotary Academy.

The Rotary Academy is a comprehensive study of the Rotary Club and Rotary International. It is a 10-lesson correspondence course covering the essentials of Rotary. You can participate either online via the Internet or via a printed manual version … your choice. Because it is designed as a self-study, correspondence program, you can set your own pace.

Updates to the program for 2013-14 are currently under way and will be available in July. Having a group of Nevada City Rotarians taking the Course at the same time would be a fun way to learn more about Rotary and help each other out along the way. Join me online or in your favorite chair in an newly updated Rotary Academy! Questions? Call Robin at 530 272-4322.  More information is available on this PDF file.
