Nevada County's premier award-winning high school robotics team has been successfully competing in the FIRST Tech Challenge since 2014. Nevada City Rotary is proud to be an ongoing sponsor of the ACME Robotics team. We have also sponsored their sister teams ARES and Midnight Girls. The team plans to show off their latest robot and share updates on plans, goals, and successes. |

OLIVE Foundation and A vision for Nevada City - Part 2 [Please RSVP!]

Join us as Chief Dan introduces a young woman from the OLIVE program who will share her personal story and the transformational support she has received through OLIVE. In 2015 Dan established his own non-profit organization known as OLIVE (Overcoming Limitations through Intervention, Value and Empowerment). which provides safety and security to victims of human trafficking. Dan worked through the hurdles to open a much-needed safe house in Madera through his non-profit. It is the only safe house in the county that focuses on victims of sex trafficking. Fellow Rotarian Dan Foss has taken the lead as Nevada City Chief of Police after a 20-year career in law enforcement with the City of Madera Police Department. Dan joined the Rotary Club of Madera in 2019 and transferred to Nevada CIty Rotary in 2022. |

Enjoy Louise's first craft talk with Nevada City Rotary. Louise has been a Rotarian since 1998 serving at least twice as Club President in the Rotary Clubs of Clear Lake and Ribon, CA. She was a member of Nevada City 49er Rotary before transfering to our Club this Fall. Louise and her husband Jeff moved to Nevada City in July 2013 when Louise was hired as superintendent of the Nevada Joint Union High School District. A lifelong learner, teacher and coach, Louise has recently retired from a 34-year career in public education. She is deeply engaged in our community as a lifelong educator and currently serves on the Nevada County Board of Education and Boards of NJUHS Foundation, Sierra Streams Institute, and other organizations. |

Join us every 1st and 3rd Thursday at 5:30pm for our twice monthly in-person social at Round Table Pizza at 686 Sutton Way, near Staples in the Brunswick basin. Agenda generally highlights a local business, includes an engaging speaker and/or enjoy dialogue with fellow Rotarians, friends, family and guests. Your choice of beverages (wine, beer, & sodas) and food (pizza, appetizers, & generous salad bar) are available for purchase.
And on 2nd and 4rd Thursdays, join us at 12:15pm for our twice monthly lunch meeting. Agenda generally includes an engaging speaker and friendly dialogue with fellow Rotarians, friends, family and guests. Zoom link will be provided for meetings offered as hybrid format. At Bistro 221, lunch includes soup and salad selected by the chefs for a fixed price of $20 (including tax and tip); Want to join us but not eat, we will have a $10 minimum (including tax and tip). RSVPs are requested if you want lunch at our Bistro 221 meetings.
