Welcome to the Rotary Club of Nevada City

There's something that all Rotary club members have in common: We take action. As community volunteers, we reach out to neighbors in need. We build, support, and organize. We save lives. We work locally and globally.

The main objective of Rotary is service -- in the community, the workplace and the world. Around the world and around the corner, the 1.2 million men and women of Rotary
  • Get involved in our communities
  • Connect with other professionals
  • Share their time and experience with young people
  • Support global causes, such as eradicating polio
  • Use our skills to help others

Whether you're a veteran volunteer or new to community service, we are looking for people like you. Contact us for more information about Rotary and how to join us.

A special invitation for Area 4 Rotarians & family
To let us know you are coming, please RSVP.

Spring time is tulip time at Ananda's Crystal Hermitage Gardens. Each year some 20,000 tulips are replanted to create a lush garden display of some 100 varieties of pink, purple, orange and yellow tulips.

By special invitation, Area 4 Rotarians and family will be treated to a private tour of the gardens led by fellow Rotarian Mai Lee who also serves as Volunteer Marketing Manager for Crystal Hermitage. Join us for a very special tour and Social for the Rotary Clubs of Western Nevada County!

Nevada City Rotary is proud to participate with three local Rotary Clubs in a $26,000 District Grant to pay for numerous additions for Bright Futures for Youth (BFFY).
The Rotary District 5190 Grant – the second major grant from the clubs and district during the past year – will allow Bright Futures for Youth to buy audiovisual equipment, install an ADA-compliant ramp, and pay for new patio furniture and lighting at the nonprofit’s Litton Hill campus for the organization’s Unhoused Project. Bright Future’s SAFE program assists young people facing housing instability.

One word for this year’s Area 4 Music Contest — WOW! Six very talented high school musicians competed. Winners were:
1. Athena Giuliani, violin, Forest Charter (5th from left)
2. Baraka Anderson, piano, SAEL (3rd from left)
3. Joanna Cancino, flute, NU (6th from left)

An accomplished violinist, Athena advances to District Conference on May 18.  Last year Baraka won Area 4 and placed third at District Conference.

Thank you to event chair Derek Williams, Grass Valley, and to Gayle Denney or Pearce Boyer for representing our club.
