Mike Bratton and the MEB II Turkey Trot ~ Going Virtual for 2020
Raise your hand if you have participated in the Annual MEB II Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day! This Thursday fellow 49er Rotarian Mike Bratton will share plans for the 2020 MEB II Annual Turkey Trot ~ this year going virtual. In honor of his son, Michael Edward Bratton II, the Annual MEB II Turkey Trot is sponsored by MEB2 Foundation, a nonprofit organization funded by local community and business support.
The MEB2 Foundation, Inc. was founded in 2006 after Michael Edward Bratton II took his own life at the age of 25. In memory of beloved Michael, the organization's primary focus is to support local youth activities, A New Day, and suicide and depression awareness and prevention in Nevada County. 100% of the proceeds raised at the Turkey Trot are given directly back into our community.
Early detection of depression and youth withdrawal is a goal of our organization. Beneficiaries of MEB2 include organizations such as A New Day that offer resources for life’s hurts. A New Day is a local, free, counseling center created to help individuals through their emotional pain. They exist to offer healing, hope, answers, direction, and tools to effectively deal with yesterday’s, today’s and tomorrow’s pain.

Area 8 & 9 Virtual Foundation Celebration with PRIP and Polio Plus Chair John Germ
This year the Annual Foundation Dinner for our Area 4 is the responsibility of the 49er Rotary Club. They are currently finalizing plans for the event to take place in early December. We will pass along the details as soon as we know more.
In addition to our Area 4 event, we have been invited to join the Virtual Celebration hosted by Areas 8 & 9. Click icon to Register and donate $25 to PolioPlus. Participate in the Area 8 & 9 Virtual event and Nevada City Rotary will extend you a $15 Happy/Sad Buck credit!
Your Happy/Sad Shares make a difference!
Your Happy/Sad shares give us glimpses of what is going on in your life beyond Rotary. They are special moments together especially since so much of our time is on Zoom. Your associated "bucks" provide a base for us to continue our special services to our community and beyond. Thanks for sharing you!
Each month, Treasurer Tom distributes an invoice plus a statement indicating you have an overdue balance when appropriate. Please follow the Four Way Test with your pledges to our Club! If you have questions, Tom R is happy to discuss your statement with you.
Stay connected and informed
Robin monitors our news@ncrotary.org email. You can direct questions to that email or to me. As we learn more and to stay in touch, we will send out regular or more frequent Rotarios.
