Friends, family and fellow Rotarians,
The 6th Grade Class of Seven Hills Middle School has been participating in the NatureBridge Science camp for 25 years. This very special 4-night, 5-day science camp is a life altering experience for young students. At NatureBridge, students sleep in the Marin Headlands of Golden Gate National Recreation Area and spend their days on the trail engaging in hands-on science, teambuilding, and stewardship. Science comes to life through hands-on environmental science programs in nature’s classroom.
“There were times we acted like we were scientists, pretty much the whole day...”
"It makes me feel joy..."
“Here you get to actually experience something instead of reading it out of a text book.”
Unfortunately, school funding for the camp has been eliminated for this year’s program. Seven Hills faculty is urgently reaching out for support to fund the program scheduled for January 28 - February 1, 2019. The intention is to send all 90 sixth grade students to the camp at a cost of $440 per student.
While many students have funding, sponsorships are needed for 35 students. Nevada City Rotary is sponsoring 5 students and extending this invitation for our community's support to sponsor additional students. We don't want any student to miss out on this experience. We have set up a Share the Joy of Nature Camp for our 6th Grade Class at GivingTrail campaign so our friends, family and community can help assure ALL STUDENTS get to participate through your contribution. Every dollar helps!
