This Week’s Meeting July 31 - Moved to 5:30pm
Simply Fun! Pre-Fair Picnic
on Treat Street at the Fairgrounds

Quote of the Week
“I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy. Let's face it, friends make life a lot more fun." - Charles R. Swindoll

This Week
Our July 31 meeting moves to 5:30pm for our pre-fair potluck and BYOB picnic on Treat Street at the Fair.  Please bring a dessert or salad/veggie to share, plates and silverware, and something to drink along with a big smile and happy heart for a SIMPLY FUN time!  We will also have our annual table decoration competition!

PE Dave Bunje is hosting a paver laying party at our booth Thursday morning.  Contact Dave if you can help!

Next Week
Rotary Goes Treat Street Aug 6-10 Nevada County Fair

Simply Fun! is the theme for this year's fair Aug 6-10. The Fair is our largest fundraiser and requires the active participation of all members for at least two shifts.  Plus it is a fun way to be in service together as a Club. Contact Walt or Robin if you can handle extra shifts. We still need Day Captains and volunteers for a number of shifts. See the booth schedule for openings http://nevadacityrotary.org/rotario/fair-booth-schedule.

If a last minute conflict arises, please understand that you are responsible to arrange for a substitute.  Shift staffing is tight and your Club is depending on you!  MANY THANKS TO ALL!

The Rotary Destruction Derby is Sunday night August 10 at 7pm!  PP Dennis Geare is coordinating details with Allison Schwartzentruber for Area 4.

We love a parade and the Fair is hosting the Simply Fun! Parade each day at 5pm!  Area 4 Rotary Clubs are planning to participate promoting the Destruction Derby, our Adventures & Wine, Duck Races, End Polio and more.  Parade starts at the Administration Blding and does the main loop. If you are not dishing up sandwiches on Treat Street join in the parade with Rotary any day or every day!

Last Week
Mike Carville, Fitness Director and co-owner South Yuba Club spoke on “Everything You DON'T Know about Weight Loss”.  Mike presented insightful data on the role of genetics and new perspectives on healthy food choices.
Adventures & Wine Auction September 19
Adventures & Wine Auction is Sept 19. Letters to our merchant donors went out early this month. Gary has donor list packets for members to follow up with your contacts regarding potential donations for this year.

Music will start at 5:30pm with Dream and the Dreamer!

Have you paid your Club Dues 2014-2015?
Rotary Club of Nevada City club dues are due July 1. Please contact Ellen if your dues are not current!
