Quote of the Week
From every mountain side
Let Freedom ring.
--Samuel F. Smith, "America"

This Week - July 3 MOVED to July 4 Parade in Nevada City
Parade starts at 11am. We are position #33 and will line up on WEST Broad with the odd numbered entries.  Line up starts at 9:30am and we will need to be in place by 10:30am. Walt is driving his convertible – most of us will walk and share Rotary with the crowds.  Family, friends and other Area 4 Clubs are invited to join us in the parade!  Show up wearing a warm smile, comfortable shoes and whatever shades of red, white, and blue or blue and gold suits your fancy!

49er Nevada City Breakfast Club is also participating.  After the parade, we are invited to meet up with 49er Rotary at Mateo’s in Nevada City.

Last Week - Past President Dennis’ Geareing Down Demotion
We all hope PP Dennis had as much fun as the rest of us did at his Geareing Down Demotion! Dennis completed his “What do you Really Know about Fellow Rotarians?” scavenger hunt to finally reclaim his long lost bell!

It needs a loving polish, but has now been turned over to incoming President Robin.  The all-star cast of “All About Geares” Jeopardy program.  PDG Dave presented PP Dennis with his pin and gavel and Jeff offered a special roasting. Thank Judy, George and “Charlie” for hosting us! Thank you Now PP Dennis for a wonderful year as our leader!  See more photos on Facebook!

July 10
PE Robin Milam’s first Club meeting as President is July 10.  Plans are to induct our 2014-15 Board and at least one new member.  Visiting Rotarians will include the new Presidents from Area Clubs.  N.I.D General Manager Rem Scherzinger will present Drought Impact on Nevada County!

Fair Booth Painted and Prepped!
Our booth is freshly painted and cleaned, ready for this year’s “Simply Fun” fair.  A special thanks to Michael Heistand and Mike Hoglund for donating their time to repaint the inside of our booth and the outside of our walk-in refrigerator! Knights Paint and Moule Paint generously donated the paint! A big thanks also to Destin Beckworth of Unique Interior Finishes and Gilbert Lee for a generous deal residing our walk-in with hardie lap siding.
