Last week’s program was a visit from Valentina Olibaras, a Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) Student from Chile hosted by the Grass Valley Club. I am always amazed at the resilience of these young people who spend a year away from home in a foreign land, learning a new culture and language. Valentina was in the US when a huge and destructive earthquake struck her country. Thanks to Grass Valley Rotarian Bobbie Swanson for hosting this interesting presentation!

Camp RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) is happening at the Grizzly Creek Ranch near Portola this week and next, and our club is hosting two high school students from our community. Many thanks to Paul Boch and Gil Gray, who volunteered to provide transportation to (Paul) and from (Gil) the event for our youngsters. Many thanks for chipping in with time and energy on short notice, guys!
