Thank goodness President Michael is back!
Maybe he can protect the bell and keep some semblance of order in this Club... and PE Eleanor doesn't have to get "tough" anymore! Luckily, no gavels have been thrown, and nobody has been physically hurt (although some might claim mental anguish).
By the way, Prez Michael, make sure you ask "Rev" Fluke about the bell!
The Grass Valley Rotary BBQ is this coming Saturday -- and they’re still asking for a Tug-a-War team from Nevada City Rotary. One has to wonder, though, when we are delivered the rules and each team member must sign a waiver... They've already been found guilty of cheating one year, so this makes one wonder just exactly what they plan to do this year! If you want to find out, ask Youth Services Chair Laura Cookson, who really wants to be the Tug-of-War Team Captain for our Club. If you'd like to go and show some muscle, there will be a sign-up at the meeting this week.
Peter Van Zant with SierraWatch brought us some interesting facts about Donner Summit and Sierra Watch’s success thus far at protecting it and the water supply. This week’s program will be a Club Assembly with Committees meeting during the usual program time, discussing the results from Visioning and prioritizing the goals for each group. This is the first time we've tried doing this as a club assembly, so please give the Board some feedback on whether you'd like to continue doing this on a routine basis.
Let’s make sure that pP Bob Buhlis doesn’t buy all of the raffle tickets this week and yet again wins the drawing! How does he continually do that?! Speaking of Bob, he'll be passing around a sign-up sheet for the Foundation Dinner, which is on Saturday, November 14th at the Nevada City Elks Lodge. Nevada County Rotaractor Sol Henson will be speaking about his work in Uganda, where he's been working on clean water projects as part of our 3-H Grant.
Last, but not least... it’s great to have pP Kim Stewart back with us. She’ll certainly add some spice to being our new Sergeant at Arms!
