The tremendous work that Rotarians do around the world is funded largely by monies raised through Foundation donations.
Each Rotary year, clubs are asked to average a minimum of $100 per member for their annual contribution. However, this year our giving record is below that by about 10%. If you have been thinking about contributing some additional funds towards a Paul Harris or you haven’t sent in your contribution yet this year, now is a good time to write your check before the year ends on June 30.
How about taking a few minutes and rolling those coins you’ve been collecting and getting those turned in? You can contribute on-line, mail your check to RI, or give it to pP Ellen Davis at this week’s meeting. District 5190 is short overall of about 12% towards the district goal for Foundation, and our help has been requested by DG Wyn Spiller. Let’s help overcome that deficit in the true spirit of the Nevada City Rotary Club!
Now that we are caught up with the status of NID and the issues of surplus water that was our program last week hosted by pP John Hensley, we’ll have an opportunity this week for Part 2 of the "Bear River Project Relicensing" to be brought to us by Ron Nelson representing the PG&E viewpoint. We have been dealing with a lot of environmental issues over the last few weeks and by the questions asked, these programs have been of interest to our membership. Thank you to PE Michael Colantuono for coordinating our programs this year!
Hope to see all of you for this final meeting of the year!
