I’m pleased to report that pP Nancy Kemp
is home after her surgery and is recovering nicely with a little
paralysis and a struggle ahead. She sends her appreciation for
the support she has received from friends, family and Rotary
and asks that we hold off on visits and phone calls for awhile.
PEN Eleanor Kenitzer reports that the Area
4 Music Contest went off without a hitch, and although
our club representatives didn’t win top honors, they performed
well and it was an enjoyable competition.
This week is our annual Speech Contest under
the leadership of Phil Ruble. He reports that
there will be five contestants this year making it tough for
the judges. Thanks to Phil, the judges and the timer for providing
our youth an opportunity to compete in this beneficial event.
Last week’s program, hosted by Carolyn Inglis
and Cathy Wilcox-Barnes was a great presentation
giving us an update on the Kenya Transformational Center.
Their guest speaker, Mary (from Kenya, but
raised in Russia), was especially delightful and informative.
Thanks Rotarians for providing us with a meaningful and enjoyable
program.
Each week more Radio Auction items pour in.
The latest count is 102 items with a value
of $19,217. Keep up the good work! Time is
running out and you are asked to follow up on those donors that
haven’t committed yet.
This Thursday is the final day to register for District
Assembly and have the club pay for it, so if you plan
to attend and have not signed up, be sure and let PE
Michael Colantuono know that you plan to attend. Michael
has the schedule and information about lodging if you plan to
stay overnight. This Assembly is a whole new program from years
past, and I encourage as many members attend as possible.
Don’t forget to sign up for District Conference
in May. This can be done online on the District
website – early registrations are encouraged. Let’s
have a good turn out to support our District Governor,
Wyn Spiller.
