Good news! IPP Nancy Kemp is doing well after her surgery and even walked some on Tuesday. She has a long haul ahead of her, but the prognosis is good. To follow Steve's daily blog you can go to www.caringbridge.org/visit/nancykemp. You can also sign in and send her messages through the website. Way to go, Nancy!

The three young people all performed well at the Club Music Contest last week. The first and second place winners will represent Nevada City Rotary in the Area Contest slated for Sunday, March 15, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Grass Valley. If you are free on Sunday and looking for some great entertainment, join in on the fun and give these young musicians your support. Thanks to PEN Eleanor Kenitzer for a great job organizing last week's event.

For next month's Radio Auction, we have received 96 donated items worth $17,337! We are doing very well, but more effort is needed if we are going to get the item count and dollar value to where it should be. As of last week, 24 members have arranged auction donations - less than half of the membership. Keep up the good work, but we need to hear from more of you!

Keep April 4th in mind for District Assembly at the Grand Sierra, Reno. Anyone who can make it is encouraged to attend -- please contact PE Michael Colantuono. Also, it's not too early to make your reservations for District Conference scheduled for May 14th-17th at the Peppermill. Remember, the club is reimbursing each member $35 per day they attend conference. Let's have a great turn out to honor DG Wyn Spiller. You can register on-line at www.rotarydistrict5190.org.

Voting on the by-laws is coming up in the 26th. On the 19th, we'll take a few minutes to answer questions, so please take time to look them over. The Club Survey has also been given to you. PE Michael Colantuono is anxious to get them back to assist him in planning for this next Rotary year. If you haven't completed yours, you are encouraged to do so soon. This week, we'll be hearing from Carolyn Inglis and Cathy Wilcox-Barnes on "Kenya Transformational Center" - this should be a good one, so hope to see a big crowd for this one!

2009 District Conference
: The District Conference is the culmination of what the 2,700 Rotarians in 53 clubs within our district accomplish. And this Rotary year, we will all come together on May 15-17 at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino in Reno to discuss, celebrate, and plan for the future! Early Bird registration and details about the Conference are available at www.rotarydistrict5190.org/districtconferencehome.asp.
Club Visioning: Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 9th from 9am to noon at the Superintendent of Schools office.
