This week, our Music Contest will be held at the Odd Fellows Lodge, where lunch will be served. PEN Eleanor Kenitzer is chairing the event and tells me that we have three outstanding young people who will be performing. This is always an enjoyable event, so don't miss it!

By the way, save March 15th for the Area 4 Music Contest where winners from our five clubs will compete to represent our area at District Conference in May. This event will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Nevada City.

Last week our meeting program was a presentation on "Ethics in the Business Life" presented by Sgt. Roger Buhlis from Richmond PD. Needless to say Dad is just a little proud with the positive response from club members on his presentation where Roger related police, personal, business, and Rotary ethics. We also celebrated February club members' birthdays and Rotary International's 104th birthday which was on February 23rd. The cake was prepared by Club Service Chair Cathy Wilcox-Barnes and was delicious as usual. Now, that is taking Club Service to the extreme! Thanks, Cathy!

We are progressing well with the Radio Auction items. We'll get an update at this week's meeting, but I've been advised we hit the $13,000 level on Monday. Keep up the good work - we need every item.

If you haven't already received a copy of the club survey and proposed by-laws revision, you will soon. You are requested to complete the survey by the end of March and be prepared to vote on the by-laws in a couple of weeks. If you didn't receive your copies or if you have questions, contact PE Michael Colantuono.

District Conference registrations are being taken on-line through the D5190 website. Each member attending will receive a $35 per day per diem for a maximum of $105. Whether you are there for one day or all three, the reimbursement (to be paid after conference) will help ease the cost for members and we are hoping will increase attendance. The sooner we all register, the easier the planning will by DG Wyn Spiller and her team.

2009 District Conference
: The District Conference is the culmination of what the 2,700 Rotarians in 53 clubs within our district accomplish. And this Rotary year, we will all come together on May 15-17 at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino in Reno to discuss, celebrate, and plan for the future! Early Bird registration and details about the Conference are available at www.rotarydistrict5190.org/districtconferencehome.asp.
Club Visioning: Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 9th from 9am to noon at the Superintendent of Schools office.
